ABOUT ME

I am an experience courtroom advocate who specialises in all forms of criminal and regulatory law.

I graduated with degrees in Law and Science from the University of Otago in 2004. Between 2004 – 2006, I worked as a crown prosecutor in Gisborne. I then worked in London for the Bar Council of England and Wales from 2006 - 2012. This work primarily involved prosecuting barristers for professional misconduct.

More recently, between 2012-2018, I worked as a crown prosecutor for the Rotorua Crown. During this time I personally prosecuted over 90 criminal trials in the District and High Courts. Trials included all manner of criminal offending including:

  • Murder;
  • Serious violence;
  • Aggravated robbery;
  • Rape and other sexual offending;
  • Class A drug dealing;
  • Serious fraud and dishonesty.

I also regularly appeared on prosecutions brought by the Civil Aviation Authority. I have a specialist expertise in aviation related prosecutions and appeared for the CAA on numerous matters up and down the country.

I took a career break in 2019 and travelled overseas with my young family. I am now offering criminal defence and regulatory services based in Rotorua.

Criminal defence work is a privilege and I feel grateful for meeting each and every one of my clients and the opportunity to help them during a challenging and stressful time in their lives.
